Austin says if you don't brush your teeth you will get a cavity. If you get a cavity and don't go to the dentist your teeth with fall out. If your teeth fall out....well you will have to eat lots of soup! :)
Hayden says if you don't brush your teeth that they will turn brown and yellow. Then you will get a cavity and your teeth might fall out. He also thinks if your teeth fall out because you didn't brush your teeth that the tooth fairy won't come see you!! :)
Austin is exactly right when he said that you could only eat soft foods without teeth. I love how Hayden connected the tooth fairy coming only if you take care of your teeth. So creative! I love that!
Nicholas says that if you don't brush your teeth, they will get rotten and fall out. He told me all about George Washington's teeth falling out and all of the different things they had to try for him to have teeth. We agreed that we would always brush our teeth at least twice a day! :)
I love that he shared with you everything that we talked about with George Washington's teeth. I am just glad that we have toothbrushes and toothpaste now to help keep our teeth clean!
Bella Grace and I learned that not brushing your teeth can cause many problems. The mouth has many bacterial in it, and if you don't keep your teeth clean the bacteria will grow causing gingivitis, cavities, and pain! It could even cause your teeth to fall out or other health problems.
Joshua said that if you don't brush your permanent teeth, they will end up falling out and no new ones will grow in. You should brush your teeth at least two times a day and floss them.
I think it is awesome that Joshua is distinguishing between the "baby" teeth and permanent teeth. He is exactly right when he says that if a permanent tooth falls out, no new tooth will grow in to replace it. That is why it is so important to brush your teeth!
We will continue our exploration of this topic until Thursday of this week. We are going to take a trip back in time to discover the first toothbrush. (You will be VERY surprised!)
Katelyn said " they will rot & fall out."

ReplyDeleteI love how Bella Grace has learned about the word bacteria. That is such an important word to expose to children.
