We began the day by baking pumpkin flavored muffins to taste! We also used this experience to find out some things we can smell during the fall season. The students helped me add just the right ingredients.
Next, we added taste to our charts and began creating our fall 5 senses books:
After that, it was time to go on our wonder walk outside to find out what we could see and hear in the fall. The first thing the students immediately noticed was that some of the leaves were starting to change colors.
Next, we heard some birds chirping near us:
We loved listening to the leaves crunch under our feet when we walked in the grass.
After our walk, we made our way to the wonder room for some more exploration. We used this time to observe the things we could touch in the fall. As you have noticed, students are completing their fall 5 senses chart throughout all of our observations. We also created and signed our wonder room pledge.
Please continue checking back on the blog for more pictures of their fall 5 senses books!
We had so much fun doing this! I'm glad your friends heard the leaves crunching under their feet too! We said we can't wait to see how many leaves are on the ground next week!
