Wonder #14

What happens if you don't brush your teeth?

In honor of learning about George Washington next week, I thought this wonder would be perfect!  Make sure you and your child research about President Washington's teeth as well!

Celebrating the 100th Day of School!!

We have had such a fun 100th day of school!

We started the day by creating a chart of 100 ways to show kindness. We read the book, The Good in Me From A to Z to gain some ideas.

Next, we read the book, Miss Bindergarten Celebrates the 100th Day of Kindergarten to begin brainstorming some things we have learned so far in school!

I was so proud of their list of 100 things they have learned in kindergarten!

Throughout the day, we completed 100 exercises in groups of tens.
(Balancing on one foot:)

(Sit-ups:)

"Did you ever wonder what you would look like if you were 100 years old?" This is the question that was asked of my kindergarteners today!

I took a picture of the kids and used the IPad app- Aging Booth to make the students look older. After seeing their photographs, the students wrote about what it would be like if they were 100 years old. These are HILARIOUS so please enjoy a few.

After that, the kids had to work to solve the missing picture on a hundreds chart. They solved by coloring in certain numbers that were given to them.

At the end of the day I asked the following questions, "Do you think you could build a tower with 100 cups? How high do you think you could make it? What would make it more sturdy? What would make it higher?" The students worked collaboratively with one another as we built our class tower out of 100 cups!

Our final tower! We tried to get a class picture beside our tower but it fell before I was able to snap it. As a class, we will discuss what happened and what we could do to make it sturdier next time!

Here are a few of our favorite counting to 100 songs:

If you can't tell, we have been VERY busy today! We loved celebrating the 100th day of school. I am so thankful to have spent the past 100 school days with the very best kindergarteners!
