This week, we have been learning about how children in other countries celebrate Christmas. We learned that we have adapted many of our traditions from Germany! The christmas tree, singing carols, and the advent calendar all came from Germany. We have also learned that Tannenbaum means christmas tree in Germany.
The students were asked to put numbers in order 1-25 to create our very own Advent Calendar to use to count down to Christmas. It is so neat the children in Germany have many of the same traditions as us. Below is a picture of our Advent Calendar that we created:

We also had the opportunity to sing a Christmas carol to Dr. Patterson! Please enjoy the video of us singing below: (At the end, they decided to sing the song "O Christmas Tree" in German).

ReplyDeleteCute! We sang "O Tannenbaum" last night at home and talked about how a "tannenbaum" is a fir tree in Germany.
