Pumpkin Investigations
Today, we have had so much fun investigating our pumpkin!
"I am never doing that again!!" -Emary Kate :)
We began by asking the question, "Do pumpkins sink or float?"
11 people predicted sink and 11 predicted float. Mrs. Burnett and I also made predictions.
Next, we tested out our predictions!
We could not believe that our HUGE pumpkin floated!
Next, we cut open our pumpkin and began investigating the inside!
Lastly, we decided to count the number of seeds inside of our pumpkin! If you can tell by the size of our pumpkin, it is huge! A few students made predictions guessing 100, 153, 1000, and many more. We decided to line our seeds up by tens to make counting easier.
Our grand total for seeds was 513!!! We could not believe it!
We have had such a fun day while exploring and investigating our pumpkin!
Career Day at OES
We have had an exciting morning here in kindergarten at Oakland!
First, we had the opportunity to learn all about the restaraunt, Zaxbys. Bella's dad and Emary Kate's aunt came to talk to us!
Next, we learned about the importance of washing our hands with nurses from Spartanburg Regional.

Why do some leaves change colors in the fall?
I am so excited to finally share this informational video with you! My students have worked so hard these past few weeks to find the answer to this question. The students have researched, investigated, and observed as they were learning all about the fall season.
I hope you enjoy and can see all of their hard work!
