We skyped with a 4K class from Dover Elementary

We had the privilege of skyping with a 4K class from Dover Elementary in Orangeburg, SC. These 4K experts have already hatched 6 ducklings in their classroom!

Prior to skyping, we came up with questions that we wanted to ask about their experience with hatching ducklings!
"What is the difference in Pekin and Runner ducks?"

"How many ducks do you have?"

"Do you have an incubator?"

"How big are they now?"

"Did you have to help the eggs hatch?"

I was so impressed with how detailed and specific their questions were!

After that it was time to skype! All of the kindergarten classes came to my room to participate in this experience! Can you imagine 100 kindergarteners in 1 classroom?!! It was so much fun!

I am also sharing two videos that were taken during our skype experience!

After skyping, we decided to write about our experience in our journals.
"A hundred kids came into our classroom to skype. It was cool!"

"We learned ducks have 3 eyelids."

"They have three eyelids."

"We were about to skype the 4K! I love to skype 4K! It was fun!"

"We skyped yesterday because we wanted to learn about baby ducks."

"We learned ducks have 3 eyelids."

"We skyped to learn from a 4K class about baby ducks.  Why do the baby ducks have a green head? Only boy mallards do.  Girl ducks have a normal head like the other girls."

"We skyped a 4K class. It was so cool! I learned that you have to pet them with two fingers."

"We skyped with a 4K class! It was so cool! One thing that I learned was that ducks have 3 eyelids. I loved skyping with a 4K class."

"Yesterday we skyped with a 4K class. I learned that mallard ducks have a green head."

"We were able to skype a 4K class. It was so fun! One thing I learned is that a duck has three eyelids!"

I want to give a big shout out to Mrs. Meek and her 4K friends for skyping with us, answering our questions, and sharing facts that they have learned!
