Good afternoon!
We have had another wonderful week here in room 201. Our class has learned lots of letters, the
numbers 1-3, and much more! Throughout
the week, we studied the author, Mo Willems.
Please ask your child about him and what characters he uses in his books.
This week, we learned the letters a, t, m, and s. Today, we reviewed all four letters with a poem called I Am Tat. Below are a few pictures as we glued the poem in our poetry journal and then illustrated it on the other side. Some friends decided to rewrite the poem and some decided to illustrate it.
We also had a wonderful surprise when Mrs. Skinner, our assistant
principal came and read a story to our class.
We were so excited to have a guest come to read to us! She read the book, The Day the Crayons
Quit. Below is a picture while she
is reading:
Mrs. Burnett and I will soon send home a scholastic book
order form for each child. These will
come home throughout the year so feel free to order books out of them if you
would like. Our class receives free
books and items based on the amount of books we purchase. Please, do not feel like you are required to
purchase, I just wanted you to be aware before it came home.
Lastly, do not forget that the 5K Orientation which explains 100 Book Challenge is Tuesday September 3 from 6:30-6:55 pm. The PTA Open House follows beginning at 7:00pm. I hope to see you then.
Thank you again for trusting your sweet children with me and
I hope that you all have a safe and relaxing Labor Day weekend. Remember, there is no school on Monday!
Love the blog idea! Looks like you all had a fun & busy week!
