My Map Book Day 1 and 2



Today, we read our mentor text,  My Map Book. It is a really neat book which includes many different types of maps. Each child will be creating their own My Map Book which will include many different types of maps that are important to them.
 

After reading the text the first time, the students created the cover for their books.





As we re-read our mentor text, we focused on the "Map of My Face." We learned that authors use labels to describe pictures.

We created our on "Map of My Face" in our My Map Book.

Please notice how hard the students worked to label their face! I am so impressed!

    I like how you are starting with maps that are relevant to the students. They did a great job with the labeling. I can't wait to see the map books once they're finished!

    I am so excited with the way the books are turning out! The students are all working so hard and are enjoying labeling different things that are important to them!
