Why do we need an incubator?

Today, we began creating our table of contents in our journal. We read the book, Flap and Sing, and learned that the table of contents needs to match the heading on each page.

To put this new learning into practice I asked the question, "Why do we need an incubator?" As a class, we researched and found some really cool reasons! The students added the heading "incubator" to the table of contents and then completed an entry in their journal.

"Incubator keeps the baby ducks warm inside their shell."

"The incubator keeps the eggs warm."

"I love incubators because they keep baby eggs warm."

"The incubator helps the egg to survive. The incubator keeps the eggs warm."

"The incubator is like the mama duck and I am thankful for it.

"It keeps the babies warm."

"The incubator keeps eggs warm. It is like the mama duck."
